Our Story

OM Hydropower is one of the group companies of the Penna Group currently executing a 15 MW project at Palampur, Himachal.

As per the current regulations of the pollution control board, 15% of the lean discharge of the river is to be allowed to flow at all times.

The lean discharge is to be measured by a discharge measurement system on line.

Project Highlights
  • Ogee weir across Neogal Khad to divert a maximum discharge of 5.52 Cumecs.
  • A Desilting tank located just Down Stream of the Intake Structure.
  • 3.178 km Long Head Race Tunnel 2.25 M x 2.25 m D — shaped to carry design discharge of 4.6 Cumecs.
  • A surface Penstock 1.30 mtr. Dia, + 664 mtr. Long feeding a surface power house operating under a net head of + 398 mtr.
  • A outdoor 33 KV Switch-yard together with a 12 km long transmission line wheeling power to the nearest Sub-Station of the HPSEB at Dehan (Palampur).

Neogal Hydroelectric Project has been contemplated as a run off the river scheme on Neogal khad, a tributary of river Beas in Kangra Dist. of Himachal Pradesh India. Power House of this project is located near Darklu Village near Palampur for generation of 15 MW of Power.

The Project lies with in latitude 32° 05' N and 32° 15' N and Longitude 76° 30" E and 76° 40' E
